Each year for the past 5 years, Will’s Way 5K Road Race has been held in memory of William Howard, a fine young man, who was fatally injured in 2009 at the Moosup Skateboard Park.
Thanks to the generosity and support of Eastern Connecticut, the goals of our committee have been met and there have been sufficient funds raised to distribute scholarships to Plainfield High School graduates in memory of William for many, many years to come. On behalf of Will’s Way 5K, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all our volunteers, to the Town of Plainfield for allowing us the use of their facilities, the Plainfield Police and Fire Departments for securing the safety of the walkers and runners, to the Plainfield and K/B Ambulance Corps and all the individuals and businesses who sponsored the race along with all the walkers and runners who have participated for the past 5 years. This overwhelming response continues to be evidence that something positive can stem from something so tragic.
Sincerely,
The Family of William Joseph Howard and the Will's Way 5k Scholarship Fund Committee
